No, IKO insurance is not available for kiteboarding schools. However, if all your students apply individually for the recreational third party liability insurance, and the whole school team including Assistants, Instructors and Trainers applies individually for the professional third party liability insurance, then lessons and courses delivered at your kiteboarding school will be covered as soon as your school becomes an IKO Affiliated Center. If these conditions are met, the IKO no longer requires your school to have a separate insurance certificate.

Yes. All membership renewals include insurance. Simply choose the membership plan that matches the type of coverage you need, and your insurance will be included accordingly.
Your insurance becomes active as soon as your IKO membership is paid and is valid for one year.
For Pro Courses, coverage starts on the first day of the course and remains valid for one year from that date.
If the injury/damage to the third party caused by the student is because of your mistake as an instructor, then the student is covered. If the incident to the third party is caused by the student’s mistake, because they did not respect your instructions or safety rules, for example, then the student is liable. They may be covered by the recreational third party liability insurance if they have it.
Your insurance is generally valid worldwide, including certain countries such as Colombia, Peru, Cuba, and Venezuela, subject to specific conditions and exclusions.
However, coverage does not apply in certain high-risk or restricted countries or regions, and it is also excluded where activities violate international sanctions.
