I had a great experience with Chris (the instructor) and the school from initial reservation to the very end. The school is very helpful and responsive, the equipment was in perfect order, so I felt safe and the lessons went very efficiently. The only reason why I've put 4 starts for "Facilities" is the lack of showers on premises, but you can use the shower right on the beach just around the corner, which is also fine. The people were warm, enthusiastic, and welcoming, which I find very important. Chris was very helpful from all the angles. I was given valuable tips before, during, after the session + even after I had left the island. Having little to no experience on the choppy water, I really felt the progress within the 3 hours private session I had with Chris, for which i'm very thankful. Chris' wast experience in the sport combined with the 2-way radio communication on the water really makes a big difference. Overall, very positive feedback, and looking forward to returning when the next opportunity allows.

Christian goes above and beyond, first meeting me before the sessions and then teaching me all that I need to know. His level headed feedback and constant communication is a real benefit, alongside the radio comms he uses in the helmet, so you can both talk and make you feel at easy in the sea. He also points out other instructors methods and how they work, and how other learners on the sea are performing so you can watch and learn too. An all round instructor with the benefit of massive experience he can provide the instructed.

Chris is a top kitesurf instructor at Sunset kite center El Medano who is willing to give you any kitesurf information. From equipment, to weather conditions, to new kitesurf lessons, to movies, ... He shared a lot of information, and I learned a massive amount. His first focus is always safety. He is not the kind of teacher who just sends you in the water. Always busy coaching in the water with a walky. Perfect for learning to become an individual kitesurf rider. Highly recommend Chris for all his knowledge, teaching and competence. Perfect for intermediate to advanced students.

sunset kite center was very flexible and easy with the organisation of my courses. The equipment was great, we always had the right gear for whatever situation. Chris was an amazing teacher, I felt safe at any time, he has years of experience and knowledge. he let‘s you in on every detail about kiting, not just the riding part, everything around it! I feel very well prepared to grow into a great&safe rider:)

Thanks to Chris and Morgane at Sunset Kitesurf School in El Medano, i drastically improved my ability to kitesurf, especially in more complicated conditions. The course was well structured and the advice and teaching quality was top notch!

Super Spot, für Anfänger etwas schwierig, da große Wellen (zumindest an meinen Kurstagen) reinkamen. Mein Kitelehrer war super, hat alles genau erklärt, super geduldig und immer Motiviert es nochmal zu versuchen .

Chris is an awesome instructor with many years of experience. As beginner one feels 100% safe with him and he has a great way of teaching, putting emphasis on safety while ensuring a fun experience! His audio communication set is a further plus as it enables two-way communication which none of the other schools provided. He also took the time to write a debrief with next learning steps and focus areas which will be useful for my next course. I hope to return to Tenerife and take lessons again with Chis, absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a kite instructor!

I started my kiteboarding learning journey with Chris at Sunset Kite Center in El Médano in May 2021 and have come back two times since then. Having also tried other schools in Greece and Fuerteventura , this has been the best learning experience and I highly recommend it to everyone who would like to start kiting in Tenerife. Chris is super knowledgeable about the sport and the location and he brings passion about the sport with him to each class we’ve had. Chris’ teaching combines very important theories with handson practice (on land and in water) consistently and at the same time brings across richness and depth about the sport. Chris tailors his teaching style to my personality and how I have learned the sport. I felt very safe, and motivated to progress each time. There’s also a very detailed debriefing after each session, which I don’t believe every school out there provides. My partner and I both had Chris and are both super happy. We look at this debriefing and suggested materials and keep up the learning even though we’re not on kiting holiday. Sunset Kite Center provides excellent services, is customer oriented, and every staff member is super friendly and makes us feel very comfortable to start learning kiting.

It was the first time I kitesurfed in the Medano (Tenerife) and I was so lucky to do it with Sunset team. They are great teachers with high knowledge and experience in kitesurf. I fully recommend to contact them if you go to Tenerife.

I have had a great time learning to kite surf. My instructor was excellent, everyone else at sunset kite surfing was super friendly. I look forward to progressing tho them and would recommend them to anyone interested in learning to kite surf.
