Achieving level 3 means you’ll be able to teach more students at the same time and your experience is officially recognized, making it valuable to your current or potential employer. You’ll also gain access to the “Assistant Trainer” course.

Worldwide qualifications and benefits

Teach kitesurfing with a maximum student-to-instructor ratio of 6 students with a maximum of 3 kites flying simultaneously when working with 1 IKO Assistant. When working solo, the ratio is the same as for Instructor Level 2.
Teach kitesurfing with a maximum ratio of 8 students to 4 kites flying simultaneously when working with 2 IKO Assistants.
Access the online job list
Post seeking employment ads to the online job list
Post personal profile information viewable on the general public website
Receive customer feedback that results in an international instructor ranking

Prerequisites

Be an Instructor level 2 for a minimum of 1 year
Have taught and registered at least 125 students with the IKO, totaling at least 1000 hours of teaching

How can I view my current certified students and teaching hours?

Log in to your IKO account.
On the left-hand menu, scroll to the bottom and click “My Profile”.
In your profile page, look for the Experience section.
Here, you will see:
- Teaching Hours
- Number of Students
- Training Hours

This section gives you a quick overview of your teaching activity and student certifications.

How to print my Diploma?

Log in to your IKO account.
On the left-hand menu, scroll to the bottom and click “My Profile”.
In your profile page, look for the Certification section.
Click and you will be able to see all you certification.

Does the IKO Instructor diploma open career opportunities?

Yes. Because the IKO is internationally recognized, earning an IKO Instructor diploma makes it easier to find work around the world. As a member, you’ll also have access to job listings through the “Jobs” section of your personal account.

How long is the IKO Instructor diploma valid for?

The IKO Instructor diploma is valid for one year. Instructors must renew membership annually to have a valid diploma again.
